TAKE ACTION ON THIS LEGISLATION!
SB 368 (protection for contraception)
Monday, April 24, 2023
SB368 (a bill to ensure protection for contraception) will be heard by the House today. Contraception could be the next battleground; it is already being restricted in some states.
With Oklahoma's strict abortion ban, it is essential that Oklahomans' right to contraception be preserved. Reminder: contraception (even Plan B, the "morning after" pill) PREVENTS pregnancy; it doesn't terminate it.
Please reach out to your lawmaker today and encourage them to vote YES on SB 368.

Dear Senator _________,
My name is _________. I wanted to send you a quick email expressing my concerns over SB 287, SB 402 and SB 731. This legislation increases divisions and panders to a small radicalized base. I am appealing to you to consider some of the consequences of such legislation.
Oklahoma already has the most restrictive abortion laws in the country and the highest rate of incarcerating women all at a cost to Oklahoma taxpayers, families and communities. These bills are an example of government overreach into medical decisions that should made between a physician and their patient.
I am asking you not to hear any of these bills in the Senate Health and Human Services committee this session.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I would love the opportunity to further discuss women's health care with you.

Dear (Representative),
My name is ________ and I am a constituent of yours here in Oklahoma. I wanted to reach out and introduce myself and congratulate you on your recent election win. I look forward to working with you on several key issues concerning Oklahomans.
Women's reproductive rights were already heavily regulated in Oklahoma prior to the Dobbs decision. Since then we have continued to see extreme legislation passed in our State. I am appealing to you to consider some of the consequences of such laws and although we don’t necessarily agree on everything, that you support access to life saving procedures in the rare cases they are needed. Would you support Senator Lindsey Graham’s Protecting Pain-Capable Unborn Children from Late-Term Abortions Act? That would impose a 15-week abortion ban nationwide that includes exceptions in cases of rape, incest or medical emergencies.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I would love the opportunity to further discuss women's health care with you.
